Dear parents and families,

As part of the district wide Michigan Model for health, 4th graders begin learning about puberty.  This unit is only an introduction and we will be discussing the changes that occur during puberty, both physical and emotional. We will set guidelines for our discussions and all lessons will be treated seriously.

This is an important unit and it is my hope that all students are included in the discussion. However if you do not want your child to join the class for this unit please let me know.

A note will go home with all students tomorrow (3/5/18) where you can opt out of this unit. Please check your child's folder for the note. You can also email me at erin.mcelhone@new-haven.k12.ct.us if you do not want your child to participate or if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Erin McElhone

Estimados padres y tutores:

Dear parents and guardians,

On Wednesday, November 15th, we will be hosting parent teacher conferences. During this time you will receive your child’s 1st marking period report card and be able to hear more about how your child is doing in 4th grade. To streamline our signup process, we are asking that parents sign up online. The link to the signup can be found below and is also posted on our 4th grade JCD blog page for easier access. In an effort to respect everyone’s time, conferences will be limited to 10 minutes. Should you wish to discuss your child’s progress at a greater length, please email Ms. Mac and Ms. Chavez to set up a separate time for your conference.

Thank you, we are looking forward to seeing you all at conferences!

Ms. Chavez and Ms. Mac
