Our Facility

John C. Daniels School of International CommunicationJohn C. Daniels School (JCD) opened its doors for the first time in the fall of 2006 and was named “Best K-12” building by McGraw Hill Construction Best ‘07. New Haven Public Schools’ School construction program is the largest in the State and the largest per capita in the country. Every classroom is equipped with at least 5 computers and an LCD projector for multimedia lessons and presentations supporting our International Communication theme. The spacious library features volumes in English and Spanish as well as a computer lab and laptops that can be used in the classrooms with access to the wireless network.

Our facility supports our commitment to the arts and physical fitness with a state of the art gymnasium and outdoor track, music room, art room and stage area for all-school assemblies, band performances, drama presentations and other special events. Special presentations can also take place in our outdoor amphitheater in the courtyard.

JCD students are safe and secure while they are at school. The building features video surveillance, a full time security guard and close partnerships with the New Haven Police Department. The glass walls of the interior courtyard make it easy to see what is going on anywhere in the building.
