School Choice Application Information

Please review the important dates and deadlines regarding the upcoming School Choice Application Process.

NHPS District Expo and Application: 

• Saturday, January 28 - 9:30-12:00pm NHPS Virtual School Choice Expo 
• Monday, February 13 - Application Process Opens 
• Friday, March 10 - Application Deadline 
• Friday, April 7 - Initial Placement and Waitlist Results Released 

John C. Daniels School Open Houses-In Person: 

• Tuesday, January 24 at 9:30 a.m. and 5:00p.m. 
• Thursday, January 26 at 9:30 a.m. 

Notes: 

• Parents may select up to SIX schools on their application 
• Parent action steps: 1) EXPLORE SCHOOL CHOICES 2) APPLY 3) ACCEPT 4) REGISTER 
• All applicants MUST apply and register their children online upon acceptance 
• Order of school placement preference is done according to four levels for a particular school:
  • Neighborhood/address and sibling preference 
  • Neighborhood/address 
  • Non-neighborhood/address and sibling preference 
  • Neither neighborhood address nor sibling preference
