  • First grade will be attending a field trip to Stepping Stones Museum on Tuesday, January 9th. Check your child's folder for the permission slip and details about the trip. Permission slips should be returned no later than Monday, January 8th. If you have any questions, please email me.
  • Rise and Shine is on January 12th. 
  • There will be no school on Monday, January 15th. (Martin Luther King Day)
  • Please label all of your child's clothing. We have numerous sweaters and hats unclaimed. 
  • Students should not bring in toys from home especially electronics. Toys and very expensive electronics have gone missing.

Spelling Test #14

We will continue to work on  “bonus” letters (ff, ll, ss) At the end of a one-syllable word, if the word has one vowel that is short and immediately followed by an f, l or s at the end, double the consonant.

We just finished Chapter 7:  Numbers to 20!   In this chapter we learned how to:

  • count on from 10
  • make a 10, then count on
  • compare sets of numbers
  • use place value (tens and ones)
  • use place value to find out how much greater or less
  • make patterns with numbers 
  • order numbers from least to greatest and greatest to least

Our chapter test will be given on Tuesday.
