4th grade families,

Tomorrow students in homerooms 155 and 156 will bring graded Ch 5 math tests home.  Our hope is that students can review their tests with you at home and make corrections as necessary.  Tests are due back by Monday, January 14th.

Students will get an opportunity to raise their scores, but more importantly, the chance to review test taking strategies. Overall, we saw that students have a good understanding of the fraction work we have been doing.  However, students made mistakes figuring out what the question asked for.

For example, if a question asks for the answer as a mixed number and he/she gave the answer as an improper fraction it is incorrect.

Please take some time to review the test with you child.  Reinforcing the importance of reading questions carefully will benefit students greatly on standardized testing.

Thank you for your attention to this!

Hello 4th grade families!

I'm excited to share the link below and hope you will join me in congratulating JCD for being one of the healthiest schools in the state!

In cooperation with our district standards, and to continue promoting a healthy lifestyle, 4th graders will NOT be able to bring in any food items for birthdays.  Instead, students will be able to choose a whole class game in celebration of their birthday.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!

- Ms. Mac
